Lori Armstrong, author of the Shamus Award winning Mercy series, presents her third installment, Merciless.

Mercy Gunderson (a former Army sniper now with the FBI) is working with tribal police on the Indian River Reservation, where the niece of the new tribal president has been gruesomely murdered. When a second murder is discovered, Merci and fellow FBI agent Shay Turnbull are at odds as to whether the crimes are connected.

To further complicate matters, Mercy lives with Eagle River County Sheriff Mason Dawson. The two must avoid discussing their jobs with each other, making home life tenuous at best. Their relationship takes on a new dimension when Shay's eleven year-old son arrives to live with them.

It begins to look as though Mercy is to be the killer's next victim. While trying to watch her back, Mercy becomes immersed in problems in tribal politics, family vendettas, a tribal police rift, the tribal council, and the FBI, while sitting beside Shay's hospital bed.

This is a great new voice in the mystery genre. Mercy is tough, ready to tackle anything, confident in her abilities to do her job. Merciless is an exciting read.
