mma Sweeney never knew her father - that is, until she came across a cache of letters her mother had saved. These letters trace a love affair that the author decided to share with the world.
As Always, Jack
begins with a letter written after Emma's mother Beebe and her father had only spent ten days with each other before Naval Pilot Jack Sweeney was shipped overseas during the Cold War. What ensues is a series of letters from Jack to the love of his life.
T
hese letters are poignant, sweet, caring and very humorous, portraying a man who was not afraid to declare his love for a woman he hoped loved him; a man who painted loving pictures of their life together; a man confident in his belief that they would live the rest of their lives together, very much in love. This is a delightful little book, that can be devoured in a short time, but time well spent. It brings a glow to the heart and a sense of well-being.
