Morning McCobb is one of the first vampires to come out in public. Now he is training for the New York City Fire Department and trying to live as normally as he can be. The great love of his life, Portia Dredful, is busy trying to make a vampire film for her senior year of high school. But coming out has had its drawbacks, like all the wannabes. Then there are the friends who want you to flip them to being a vampire. And you cannot forget the weirdos who have gone to the dark side.

With all this going on, life for McCobb couldn't get any worse. The bad guy he believed that he and Portia had killed is after revenge. Which puts his Portia in deep doodoo and this of course adds stress. But one of the stranger things happening is that his cravings are lessening and a few hairs are growing on his chest. Which, believe me, is weird in the vampire world. To top things off, the NY Fire Academy is giving him a hard time, especially one of his teachers who believes he should not be on the team. Will life ever be normal again or should he suck it up and die?

For teen literature this is pretty good. I noticed that the book jacket suggests ages eight to twelve, but I find it a little mature for that age range. I enjoyed the characters, the storyline, and the light romance, and loved the new concept of what vampires could be.
