n this novel set in New York City, Morgan Tyler, a soap opera writer, is in more trouble than her TV characters. Her boss, Damon Radford, is murdered and she's left a fortune in his will.
N
o one believes she wasn't involved with him, including Damon's mother. Damon told her they were engaged. Morgan didn't even like the man. He was a creep, hitting on any woman with a bust.
M
organ is, of course, the prime suspect. She sets out to solve the mystery of why she inherited from a man she detested. Meanwhile, she's being stalked by the real murderer. In the midst of it all, she's falling for one of the investigating detectives.
H
aving a soap opera writer as a main character in a mystery series is ingenious. Palmer's characters are so well developed you'd like to meet them. Morgan's history is woven into the story and her past could inspire a prequel.
