Dark images of the horrific murder haunt Sean as he searches for oblivion – not able to stand the pictures that appear in his mind as he slowly recalls the events of eleven years ago. His wife Risa finally went on with her life and had him declared dead after seven years. Remarried, she and her new husband are raising Risa and Sean's son Kevin. When Sean reappears in their hometown in Pennsylvania wanting to turn himself in for killing an old friend with a machete-like weapon, Sean finds himself more on the run than confessing. Questions arise from Sean's declaration and strange things happen. Did he really kill someone or is his mind still on the mend? I thought I had the plot all worked out. Boy, was I ever wrong! A really good twist at the end will surprise you. Good plot and believable characters. Risa's second husband Alan takes on the persona of a politician who can't see beyond the next election. Risa's love for Sean shines through. Doug Magee is also the author of Never Wave Goodbye which received high praise. So shall Darkness All Around. Good read.
