arget: Tinos
is the fourth in Jeffrey Siger's series starring Inspector Andreas Kaldis of Greece's special crimes division. It's another good mystery wrapped in the mystic pull that Greece seems to exert on most of us.
O
n the Aegean island of Tinos a monstrous discovery is made of two dead bodies chained together and burned beyond recognition. Bits and pieces of a Greek flag are also found. A hue and cry goes up until it is discovered that the two bodies were those of gypsies. All interest disappears. Except for Andreas Kaldis. He plows ahead to uncover who could do such a thing.
H
is wedding to the mother of his little boy is planned and Kaldis has difficulty fulfilling the demands made upon his time, as well as watching his back. He's been threatened. He feels a monumental robbery is being planned and questions the influx of non-Greeks and gypsies to Tinos.
A
s always, suspense plays a great role in this series as does the feel of a beautiful Greek island. To find a killer and prevent the robbery is on the top of the Inspector's agenda, much to the dismay of his fiancée. I have enjoyed all four of these books and recommend each of them as a very good read.
