Widowed Katla the Black takes care of her family's homestead. She has three brothers, who want to see her remarried. They offer her a gift with strings attached. They will bring three suitors and she must choose one to seal the deal. Her gift is a thrall, a male slave bound by an iron collar. Katla could use help around the farmstead, and the thrall is easy to look at, with muscles upon muscles. The only thing she cannot figure out is how to bend him to her ways.

Brandr has travelled the world, and is well versed in the ways of beautiful women. He has a reputation as a fierce warrior and a fierce lover. Not in a million years did he anticipate wearing the iron collar. But one night in the tavern with a beautiful woman led to this. He was drugged, taken to a longhouse, and thrown at the feet of his new mistress. Seeing Katla, he decides this is one woman he would like to devour.

The title of this book is apt - there is plenty of fire that ends up steamy when it hits the ice. This hot journey takes readers to the Viking era with a bit of mischief, magic and danger. Well written and very provocative, Lord of Fire and Ice is a hot summer romance.
