elia (half vampire, half siren) takes her job as a bodyguard very seriously. After receiving anonymous information of a clairvoyant vision about a magical bomb that is about to go off, Celia heads to the local public school. Almost everyone from the school is evacuated but the bomb goes off. Thankfully no one is seriously hurt in the incident.
wo weeks later, Celia still has a bruise on her leg and suffers severe headaches. Knowing this is not the norm for a vampire, she seeks help from her ex-fiancÚ Bruno. She learns that she has a virus, a zombie-like plague that not only puts her life at risk, but those of the school's children and parents as well. Since the antidote to this virus is not readily available, Celia and her team must act fast.
here are more bomb threats across the nation and Celia has a few problems of her own to work out. Her alcoholic siren mother has escaped; her ghost of a little sister has possessed a child; a psycho witch wants her dead; and one of her boyfriends has disappeared into thin air. Poor Celia is stressed out to the max, with never a dull day.
his book grips the reader fully from the first page until the very end; I am lucky I didn't fall off the edge of my seat. Cat Adams has struck gold again with her witty, strange and crazy characters. She has paranormal in her pocket, delivering an episode with a ton of action, a touch of human turmoil, and tidbits of romance scattered throughout. This series only gets better.
