Liz Warren lives by herself in a cheap little apartment and has a small office where she runs her freelance business. A tracker, she finds people through blood samples given to her. She makes her own rules and lives a tough life. She is secretly bound to a syndicate leader, who has been known to be ruthless and violent in their business relationship. She has six months to break this binding and free herself.

Liz has a huge setback when her friend asks for help to find her husband's killer. But this also brings her past lover into her life again, someone she wanted to forget and didn't.

Cam Caballero works for the opposition syndicate, and is bound by unbreakable oaths. He wants answers from Liz, about why she left him six years ago without an explanation. He was going to marry her, live the rest of his life with her, and of course he is still in love with her. He now has his chance, in helping Liz find a killer. But in doing so more blood will be spilled, more questions without answers will be brought to the table. Can the two of them work together without falling back to old patterns that left them in each other's arms?

This book is like a tornado - its twists and turns make the pages flip faster than you can imagine. It takes paranormal to a new level. I am most definitely looking forward to the next book in the series, Shadow Bound. You find yourself caring for the characters, and wanting them to win in all situations.
