In Book 7 of Harlequin's More Than Words program, Carly Phillips, Donna Hill and Jill Shalvis focus on three more organizations, all created by real life heroines who saw a need and did something about it.

Phillips' story sheds light on ASRL an organization founded by Valerie Sobel in honour of her son Andre who died of brain cancer. ASRL helps pay single parents' bills so they can stay at their critically ill child's bedside. In Compassion Can't Wait, young Michael feels lonely and isolated after all his parents' attention goes to his brother who's fighting a life-threatening illness. Julia Caldwell knows exactly how Michael feels and tracks down her high school sweetheart, Kyle. Will the hotshot baseball star step up to the plate to mentor Michael or break Julia's heart all over again?

In Donna Hill's story, Someplace Like Home, the focus is on Nancy Abrams' Family Reconnect Program. Verna Scott has allowed her complete dedication to her work take over life. Is it too late to find love and family? She doesn't think so after meeting Ronald Morris. He's kind, caring, and also looking for a serious and permanent relationship. But a surprise from his past could change everything.

And in What the Heart Wants, Jill Shalvis introduces us to Ellie Cahn, a teacher and founder of PIC (Powerful and in Charge) a non-profit program that helps empower teenage girls. She's worried about Kia, who's gotten herself into what Ellie believes is an abusive relationship. Kia on the other hand, doesn't think so and seems more concerned about Ellie's love life or lack thereof - until Ellie's high school sweetheart stops to help them fix a flat tire. Both he and Ellie realise the spark's still there, but will Jack be able to forgive himself for running out on the girl he's never forgotten?

This collection of novellas not only offers poignant love stories, but also introduces readers to organizations that quietly and effectively help those in need. Phillips, Hill and Shalvis's stories do justice to them all.
