H
ere are over forty of the best, hair-raising, spine tingling, heart- stopping stories ever written by some of the most lauded storytellers of all time. Jack London, Rudyard Kipling, H.G. Wells, H. Rider Haggard and Alastair MacLean are among the list of notable writers whose works are included in this 872 page volume.
Y
ou'll meet for the first time, or perhaps renew your acquaintance with, memorable characters such as Sheena - Queen of the Jungle, the Scarlet Pimpernel, King Kong, Hopalong Cassidy, Bulldog Drummond and The Spider.
P
enzler has divided the stories into sections with catchy names like
Sword & Sorcery
,
Go West Young Man
,
Sand and Sun
and
Megalomania
.
T

T
his collection would be a wonderful way of introducing a young person to some of the classics of the past. There are some terrific adventure tales here such as
The Most Dangerous Game
by Richard Connell and
Wheels Within Wheels
by H.C. McNeile, that will thrill a new reader.
