The Capital Crimes Series by Margaret Truman has been popular since the first one made its debut. Monument to Murder, the twenty-fifth in the series, is a sure contender for awards.

PI Robert Brixton struggles to make a living. When he is asked by a woman to clear her daughter of the charge of murder, he knows it won't be an easy investigation. The younger woman was incarcerated twenty years ago and then gunned down on the street after spending four years on the inside! Her mother wants her name cleared and the case will pay some bills. So he says yes to her request.

The cold trail leads him into the world of Savannah's power elite as well as its corrupt underbelly. At times, it's hard to tell them apart. An organization dedicated to removing troublesome politicians seems to hold the upper hand. They believe that what they are doing is for the good of the country as well as for their own pocketbooks.

Robert Brixton walks into this scenario with all the information he needs to expose Washington's leading hostess. Monument to Murder is a captivating novel featuring the ever popular Mackensie and Annabel Lee Smith. What more can one ask?
