olly Beach
by Dorothea Benton Frank is only the second of her books I have read. Where have I been? I shall have to make it my summer's project to read more of her many novels.

ate Cooper returns to her childhood home in the lowcountry after her husband's suicide changed not only his but her and their children's lives forever. He wheeled and dealed with the big guys and provided a life style that had everything except his presence. When his machinations blew up in his face, he opted out of the mess and left Cate to watch her life disintegrate.

ith nothing in her pocket but the few thousand dollars she had been able to save, she heads for her Aunt Daisy's home on Folly Beach. Spurred on by her sister Patti, Cate is determined to start a new life.
H
ow she does it is the essence of this lovely book about despair, anger, family relationships, romance, love, and a new chance at life.
T
he character of Cate is well defined with all her thoughts and caring for others. She is determined to move on in her life. With the backing of her Aunt Daisy and her sister, Cate receives the support she needs. The appearance in her life of someone new opens more doors for her.

olly Beach
is a wonderful, feel-good read with a simple, uncomplicated plot. We can all identify in one small way or another with Cate's problems. The way she solves them gives credence to the saying that
you never know what tomorrow will bring
