Viscount Brentwood is taking his late mother's dog for a walk in the park early one morning. At first he thinks he is seeing things, as a beautiful woman walks out of the mist right into his arms and kisses him. She is compromised and her father is beyond furious, because she was betrothed to another. Brent has no choice but to marry her.

Lady Gabrielle sees her sister kissing and embracing her betrothed. To clear her mind, she takes her dog for a walk, and an idea hits. She carries it through. She finds Brent very attractive and their kiss opens up feelings and desires she has never experienced before. But Gabrielle also doesn't like being forced into another engagement.

Gabrielle tries many different ploys to make the viscount believe she is not going to make a good wife, but Brent is on to her. He finds himself immersed in scandal after scandal from her antics. But love is beginning to blossom, and the couple grow closer.

This book is like a big fluffy marshmallow, sweet and gooey. Well written, it offers a bit of romance mixed with witty conversation between Viscount Brentwood and Lady Gabrielle, touches of humor, mystery and steaminess. I really enjoyed A Gentleman Never Tells because of the lightness of the story, very refreshing.
