Paul's daughter Sarah is, at the moment, staying secluded in a farmhouse in Virginia because a vengeful killer is stalking her. Liquida chases her with revenge in his heart as well as the desire to kill her father. This continuing saga takes the reader to Bangkok, to Paris and into the jungles of Mexico. Conversely, Paul seeks Liquida in order to destroy this Trader of Secrets before he can deliver the technology necessary to arm a weapon that could conceivably obliterate large portions of the world. The search is exciting enough. But the ending is the epitome of excitement. I felt myself ready to duck flying bullets as well as diving for cover. I fell in love with Sarah's best friend and guard dog Bugsy. He has scruples and doesn't take anyone at face value. Another character who struck a chord with me was Herman. A friend and confidant of Paul's, he is the kind of friend you're able to rely on in a moment of sheer terror. And those moments, while not continual, occur more often than in everyday life in Trader of Secrets. It's an exciting thriller to while away summer beach hours.
