hen antique dealer Abby Timberlake Washburn decides to accompany a friend to attend his loco aunt's wake, she doesn't realize she's in for more than just a bizarre family gathering.

lthough she is not dead yet (a psychic predicted that she soon would be), old weird Aunt Jerry has taken the opportunity to call everyone together so she can enjoy her own passing. But more than an excuse for a macabre party, the gathering also gives the old woman a chance to gleefully disown many of the assembled relatives.

hat fun! Well, perhaps it is fun at first, but then Aunt Jerry truly does turn up dead! And, the old gal's priceless emerald ring has gone missing as well. Unfortunately, Abby is the prime suspect in the case and she finds nothing amusing about this situation.

ith the help of her friends, Abby will have to prove her innocence. That won't prove to be an easy task, though, given the members of the dead woman's exceedingly vicious family the Charleston antique dealer has been rubbing shoulders with.
