Austin Lanier is a city girl at heart. She works as an oil executive in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She loves the fast pace of the city and her job. Her income allows her to have the best - a stylish condo, the latest in trendy fashions, and her fast Corvette. Austin has just learned her Grandmother Verline has died at the age of eighty three. Now Austin is taking a leave from work so she can travel to Terral, Oklahoma to scatter Verline's ashes and settle her estate.

Arrivng in Terral, Austin soon learns she has inherited her Grandmother's watermelon farm and winery. She has met her Grannie's neighbour, Rye O'Donnell, the cattle rancher across the road. He is handsome and sexy and they make an immediate connection. Austin knows Verline would approve, as she was always trying to get Austin to come to the farm and meet him. As the days go on, Austin is surprised to find she likes the country life and all that she is learning about running the farm. Rye would like to buy the farm and extend his ranch, but Austin is thinking of trading her heels in for cowboy boots.

Austin is torn between the city life in Tulsa and the laid back country life. She is learning so much from Rye, and has made new friends in town. Her relationship with Rye is hot and steamy, and why would she walk away from that? Austin wants to prove to her disapproving mother that she can become a farmer and carry on the family business her grandmother worked so hard to establish.

Dividing her time between corporate Tulsa, and life on the farm, is beginning to take its toll on Austin and her relationship with Rye. She must take a stand against the nay sayers and decide what matters most in her life and in her heart. Love Drunk Cowboy is a fast, funny, sexy read. It is the first book in the Spikes and Spurs romance series.
