Aftermath is the second book in the Snapped series. There are a number of characters to follow but Brown has smoothly woven the storyline together.

Misa, Camille, Toya, and Dominique are all friends. They gather round as Misa is facing a murder charge for killing her brother-in-law's brother, Steven Bingham. She believed Steven was molesting her toddler son Shane, but now she is forced to face the truth about her own parenting skills. An unlikely source comes to Misa to help in her fight for justice.

Camille, Misa's sister, is married to Frankie Bingham, brother of Steven. Frankie is a big time gangster and his main goal is to see Misa get a life sentence for killing his supposedly innocent brother. Camille is taking the flack from Frankie about her sister, but she has other news for her ex husband. He moved in with his girlfriend Gillian and now Camille has dropped the bomb that she is pregnant with Frankie's baby.

Toya is dealing with her own problems also. She is strong willed and lacking faith when it comes to men. Her father Nate has come back into her life and she is struggling to forgive him. She grew up with his abuse when he was into drugs and now he wants to make amends and have a future with his daughter, but it may be too late for that.

Dominique is upset that her young daughter Octavia has run away from home. As she searches for her she reflects on her chaotic lifestyle, thinking that has given Octavia reason to leave.

Aftermath is the story of four women, all friends, dealing with their own problems and tragedies. They come together to support one another through murder, infidelity, child abuse, and love. A fast moving story of complex relationships.
