obbie Ivy is doing her best to keep her life on an even keel. Her father walked out on her and her mother when Robbie was very young. Her mother has since died of cancer. Robbie feels alone, but is determined to make a good life for herself - without ties who might abandon her.

ike a rushing stream that overflows its banks, Robbie is confronted by her father, who has come to South Beach to seek her help in finding Robbie's sister! A sister of whom she had never heard until now. Kate and her friend Joanne had come to the rocking area on a school break. They disappeared two days later and have not been heard from since. We, the readers, of course, are in on Kate's comings and goings. Not a life one would choose to live. Can Robbie help the father she still does not trust? And will she?
I
like Robbie. She thinks things through and acts on her decisions. She does not always pick the best way to go, but one can count on her no matter the situation. The plot is tight and suspenseful but kind of lost me at the end. Maybe that's just me, but it seemed to lose steam and finished up too quickly. Sharon Potts, author of
Someone's Watching
, won top honors for her first book,
In Their Blood
. Surely, this one, too, will receive recognition.
