Abigail Montross has been waiting for Freddie to propose, but instead he makes an offer to her cousin. She is devastated, even more so when her father informs her that he has arranged for her to marry a man twice her age, with thirteen children. She vows she will not marry this man.

Andres, the handsome and notorious Barón de Vasconia, meets Abigail when she's feeling desperate. They agree to elope. Andres does not have a lot of cash and has been ordered out of London by a jealous husband, who has given him land. Before Abigail and Andres can get to this property, Abigail's father catches up with them. He informs them that Abigail can't touch her trust until she is twenty-seven.

When they reach Andres' new property, they find the house in a deplorable state. Andres tries to send Abigail back to her father on the coach, but she insists on staying. As they start to make a home together, their agreement to avoid romance falls by the wayside. They befriend neighbors and the place starts feeling like home.

Then Freddie turns up at a neighbor's party and makes overtures to Abigail. Andres walks in on them and believes the worst - that she is still in love with Freddie, but nothing could be further from the truth. Freddie also tells Abigail that her mother is ill so she goes home to London - will Andres give up everything that he has now to go after her?

His Christmas Pleasure is a great romance. It starts off with a marriage of convenience, but readers watch as Abigail and Andres fall in love - the perfect story for a relaxing afternoon of reading.
