illy Soloman is living the American dream. She is a stay at home mom with two great kids, a loving husband, and a nice home. At times, Gilly feels smothered and overwhelmed by the demands of a busy household, and her never ending,
to do
list. She can barely function at times, and dreams of getting away from it all.

fter a day of errands, Gilly makes a decision that will change her life forever. She stops at the ATM for cash and is carjacked by a young man who puts a knife to her throat. Gilly makes a brave attempt to crash her SUV, helping her children to escape to safety.

er abductor, Todd, takes her miles into the Pennsylvania woods, to a deserted cabin he inherited from his uncle. Gilly learns that Todd did not want to take her, he only wanted the vehicle. A winter storm buries them in snow, and now Gilly fears she will not be found. As days turn into weeks, then into months the pair start to form a bond.

illy discovers Todd has just been released from prison. He confides his painful childhood to Gilly and talks of secrets he has kept buried deep. Gilly takes the time to reflect on her life as a wife and mother, and realizes how precious it is. Todd begins to feel he and Gilly could have a life together in the woods, and maybe even start a family.

, Gilly has to decide how far she will go, and what she will do to get away from Todd. Now that she knows his secrets, she knows he is hanging on by a thread. A little slow moving at times, the story is well written to keep you guessing about what will happen to Gilly.
