Fang follows MAX as the sixth in James Patterson's bestselling Maximum Ride series, featuring a genetically modified (98 percent human, 2 percent bird) flock of avian kids - Max, Fang, Iggy, Nudge, the Gasman, and Angel, accompanied by vocal, ad-libbing dog Total.

In the last two green episodes, the talented bird kids took on global warming in Antarctica, and stopped the dumping of dangerous wastes in the ocean depths. Now, as Fang opens, they're in flight over Africa, heading to a refugee camp to assist the Coalition to Stop Madness with humanitarian relief. Though shot at en route, they land safely and get to work.

But when Max identifies villains at the camp - Criminal mastermind Dr. Chu from MAX and Dr. Gunther-Hagen who performs reckless genetic experiments - she decides it's time to lift off. She is also seriously spooked by Angel's latest prediction, that 'Fang will be the first to die. And it will be soon', and by their encounter with another winged kid, turquoise-eyed Dylan (her Voice tells Max that Dylan was designed for her). The flock heads home to Colorado.

When Jeb shows up with Dylan, Max is not welcoming. There's an attack by Erasers, a change in leadership, an interlude in Vegas, a Hollywood appearance, a genetic accelerator, and a wedding. When the unimaginable happens, Max is left devastated - how will she go on? Fans will just have to wait for the next episode in this high-flying, hyperactive series to find out.
