The book includes over sixty step-by-step demonstrations that cover a variety of dragons, including medieval, fairy and sea-dwelling wyrms. The in-depth advice the author offers includes how to render every aspect of the beast – eyes, ears, horns, wings, scale patterns and limbs. Along with the extra tips and drawing tricks provided, the artist will find everything he or she needs to create these ancient, sinuous, awesome creatures. Divided into two sections, Dragon Anatomy and Equipment and Dragon Demonstrations, Peffer's full color diagrams and drawings offer a step-by-step explanation on how to create a featured dragon. But it is also important to heed the author's advice. 'I hope that you use these demonstrations as sources of inspiration and foundations for drawing and designing dragons, rather than the end-all book on the subject,' she writes, 'By no means let what's sandwiched between these pages limit your imagination or the many, many ways that you can design your own unique dragons!'
