ove mystery? Suspense? Intrigue? Thrills? Catastrophe? Okay, maybe not in your real life but in fiction?
The Ark
has all this and more. A thrill a minute. Throw in a little misguided religious fervor, a scattering of quotes from the Bible and a hint of romance and you've got a hot little number in your hands.
D
ilara Kenner, a renowned archeologist, is contacted by an old friend who might have information about her missing father. Also an archeologist, her dad spent a good part of his life looking for Noah's Ark. Dilara's contact does not tell her of her father but rather talks of the Ark and the death of billions. As he speaks - urging her to find Tyler Locke, a former combat engineer, and beg his help - he suddenly collapses and dies.
D
ilara tracks Locke to an oil rig off the coast of Newfoundland and that is where the real excitement begins. Dilara's life is in great jeopardy - death seems to be seeking her out. At LAX, the monorail, and the Space Needle, adventure reigns. The chase of a 200-ton mining truck in Phoenix will have you holding your breath. Stepping aboard a gigantic cruise ship where all those aboard are scheduled to die will keep you flipping pages.
I
can't in good conscience tell you more of this extraordinary plot. Don't want to spoil the suspense. Just take my word for it, it's worth a read. A few words about the author of
The Ark
. He holds a PhD in industrial engineering, and has been employed by NASA, Microsoft, and Thomson-RCA. In 2003 he was a Jeopardy Champion. Wait, that's not all. He is also a professional actor, appearing in commercials, stage plays and films. Wow!
