Gracie MacDougal quits her job when she gets fed up with her boss at a posh hotel. She is a workaholic, but he wants to cut costs and Gracie just wants the guests to be comfortable. Her decision to quit may have been impulsive but she sticks to her guns and goes to the last place she remembers relaxing - Seagull Point, Virginia.

Kevin Patrick Daniels is a lawyer whose clients have died, so the most he has to do is talk to a beneficiary now and then. He is also in charge of the money that his uncle left to his cousins, who seem unable to handle it. One has a shopping addiction and the other starts businesses that are doomed to fail. When Kevin meets Gracie she thinks he is a lazy bum who just lies in his hammock all day. She wants to buy his aunt's house for a bed and breakfast. He refuses and Gracie is furious with him.

Kevin is enchanted with Gracie's beauty but she is too uptight and he wants to teach her to relax and smell the coffee. Gracie just wants to talk him into selling her the house and figures the more she sees him, the more she can get him to see her way. In the end Kevin's aunt decides to let her start up the bed and breakfast and they all go to fix up the old house. Kevin can't stay away and discovers that he can learn something from Gracie too; he seems to have a better relationship with his cousins. He has fallen head over heels in love with Gracie, now he just has to make sure she doesn't go back to her old life.

Amazing Gracie is a wonderful story set in a small town with characters that you fall for. Kevin seems gruff to begin with but once readers get to know him, they will find he is sensitive. Gracie just wants to fall in love and have children one day, so it is the perfect timing for both of them to meet. Readers will love this quirky romance.
