ndy McDermott gives the tale of the famous sword in the stone story - one of the most famous Arthurian legends - a modern twist. Archaeologist Nina Wilde and her fiancé, former SAS bodyguard Eddie Chase, are off on an R&R junket, but their vacation turns into a busman's holiday when the couple meets an old friend who involves them in a quest that defies description.
A
t the heart of the global chase is the weapon that treasure hunters have been seeking since the final days of Camelot. Naturally, there are others who wish to claim the famous sword and use its reputed powers for evil purposes. So, the chase is on and Nina and Eddie will be hard pressed to claim the
prize
. But, if they don't succeed, the consequences could be devastating.
M
cDermott's previous thrillers have focused on finding Atlantis, discovering the lost tomb of Hercules, and unearthing the covenant of Genesis. Therefore, it really comes as no surprise he'd launch a search for Excalibur in this latest archaeological adventure.
