Angel Tritone is dedicated to her mission to save the planet and even more determined to involve humans in her plans. But in her undersea home of Atlantis, the punishment for consorting with humans is death. The fact that both her brothers are married to human women hasn't changed the Council's decision. Nevertheless, she decides to move forward with her plan. During her journey to dry land, she's attacked by old enemy Harry the Hammerhead. She narrowly escapes his razor sharp teeth by leaping into a boat occupied by six-year-old Michael Hardington, who mistakenly believes she's his birthday wish come true.

Michael's father Logan, on the other hand, believes she's nothing more than a flaky college student down on her luck. So what if she's the most beautiful woman he's ever seen? Having recently learned he was the father of a six-year-old son, Logan doesn't have time for a relationship - or even mental fantasies about Angel. But Michael's odd attachment to the woman makes getting rid of her all but impossible. So Logan agrees to let her stay on as Michael's temporary babysitter. It soon becomes clear that they share common interests and a strong commitment to saving the environment and that by working together they can make a difference - and make a life together. But when Angel is recognised for what she truly is, both their lives are suddenly in danger.

Catch of a Lifetime is definitely the best instalment of this quirky and imaginative undersea series. Angel's adventurous and romantic exploits are charming and often amusing - especially as she discovers all the girlie wonders to be found on dry land. Fennell's world building is fresh and enchanting, particularly her incorporation of sea birds and other creatures of the deep, either as champions for Angel's cause or as fishy adversaries like Harry the Hammerhead and his assorted minions. Judi Fennell has already reeled in plenty of readers with the first two instalments of her charming series - she'll certainly hook many more with Catch of a Lifetime.
