Known around the world as a practical teacher of the Bible, Joyce Meyer bases her daily devotions on her messages and three previous books (How to Hear from God, Knowing God Intimately and The Power of Simple Prayer). Each devotion begins with a scripture verse, followed by a short message based on the verse and ends with God's Word for Today. The purpose is two-fold: (1) To help the reader learn to listen for God's voice in their daily lives and (2) To increase their relationship with God. Listening for God's voice is a spiritual exercise that must be practiced daily. The devotions touch on a wide variety of topics, including finding peace, trusting God and discovering God's will for our lives. Meyer reminds the reader that God has plans for us - far greater than we can ever imagine. She challenges the reader to 'study God's word so you can recognize His voice.'
