The second of the Timesavers books, this extremely helpful and practical resource is filled with more attractive, reproducible material that K-12 teachers will find useful.

There's no need to reinvent the wheel when it comes to report card and IEP comment sheets, substitute teacher instructions, and classroom awards and passes. With this book's easy-to-copy, lay-flat pages, you can either duplicate those you want or use the handy CD that accompanies Timesavers for Teachers.

The first part (Report Card and IEP Comments) offers over 1,800 comments organized into a ready-to-use format. The author suggests using the CD to 'Just select the comment that most accurately matches the level of achievement, insert the student's name into the comment, and cut and paste it into the report card template.'

The comments cover every subject plus oral communication, group work, initiative, independent thinking and risk taking and a host of other areas you may wish to address.

The Substitute Teacher section includes class lists, seating plans, emergency procedures, an incident report, feedback from the substitute and a whole range of other useful forms.

Finally, just about every conceivable award certificate is represented in the book's final chapter. Full page certificates with attractive designs vary from Good Reader, Student of the Day and Great Improvement awards to Outstanding Effort and Certificate of Completion citations. The only danger I see with these numerous certificates is that if they are overused they will lose their significance.

You'll also discover 12 passes for things like bathroom use, free computer time, and library visits.

Although more specialized than the first Timesavers book, I think this volume will also be a good resource if the teacher is in need of this type of material. I'd take a look at the book, though, before making a purchase. Make sure you can really use this material!
