Raising a child can be challenging task; therefore, new parents can use all the help they can get. In Happy Baby, Happy You, Karyn Siegel-Maier offers 500 suggestions on how to nurture the bond with your baby.

In the book's introduction the author explains that this is not a volume about rearing a child. 'There are volumes of books that will help you bear up through the difficulties of sibling rivalry, the traumas of childhood diseases, and the complexities of toilet training,' Siegel-Maier writes. 'This book offers various simple and common sense ways to nurture your child in the first year of life to provide the best foundation for wellness, self-esteem, and a lasting parental bond.'

Seven chapters cover everything from preparing baby's room using non-toxic materials and paint, adjusting to a new member of the household, and creating healthy baby foods, to activities that will nurture learning.

The book's format is easy to follow with short, single page suggestions and recipes plus special highlighted Terrific Tips. Also, this book is not just about your new baby. The author also suggests ways mom can take a load off after a stressful day. Siegel-Maier recommends trying an herbal foot soak, a soothing facial massage or listening to a relaxing tape of soothing instrumental music.
