Bree O'Brien comes back to Chesapeake Shores when her last two plays are given bad reviews and her relationship with her mentor falls apart. When she runs into Jake Collins, all the memories of loving him come back, making her more confused than ever. But he wants nothing to do with her. She decides to open a flower shop and finds out that he runs the only nursery around able to deliver flowers.

When Jake Collins sees Bree he knows he is still in love with her, but he is furious over the way that she left him. He decides to take her flower shop as a customer but realizes that he is the one who will have to deliver the flowers; he will never get over her. His sister has always liked Bree and would like nothing better than for them to get back together. Jake decides that maybe they can try to be friends - after all, it is a small town and they will be running into each other frequently.

Bree and Jake always had a close relationship. Back when Bree's mother moved to New York he was there to help her through it. Now Bree's mother is back in Chesapeake Shores wanting to renew her relationship with her husband. Bree has not talked to her in a long time and the relationship is strained. Jake is here again to help her repair her relationship with her mother. They spend time together and it is impossible to be friends when they are both fighting the love they share.

Flowers on Main, the second book in the series, is beautifully written. O'Brien family members have been through tough times but they know when to stick together. Sherryl Woods creates a place that readers will love to visit in Chesapeake shores, and the O'Briens are friends you can't wait to see again. The next in the series, Harbor Lights, is Kevin O'Brien's story; you will not want to miss it.
