When seventeen-year-old Senate page Katie Converse disappears days before Christmas, the Triple Threat Club is anxious to take on the case. The Triple Threat Club consists of Cassidy Shaw (a TV crime reporter), Nicole Hedge (an FBI special agent) and Allison Pierce (a Federal prosecutor).

From Katie's blog, it appears that she may have been romantically involved with local Senator Fairview. It is up to Cassidy, Nicole and Allison to determine if Katie committed suicide or was murdered.

In addition to the case, each lady is dealing with their own personal issues. Allison apparently has a stalker sending her threatening messages. Nicole is doing her best to provide a secure and stable home for her daughter and Cassidy is denying the fact she is in an abusive relationship. Wll their own personal situations have an impact on Katie's case?

The plot contains a number of surprising twists and turns that keep the reader actively engaged throughout. Discussion questions are included.

2nd Review by Tim Davis (Rating:3):

Seventeen-year old Katie Converse has disappeared without a trace, and three women in Portland, Oregon, immediately become involved in the case. Cassidy Shaw (the ambitious television journalist), Nicole Hedge (the emotionally guarded FBI agent), and Allison Pierce (the devout Christian and assistant district attorney) have known each other since high school, and now, for different reasons, each of these members of their self-styled Triple Threat Club has a special interest in Katie's case.

Katie's mysterious vanishing act dominates their professional lives, and the three women soon agree that a U.S. senator is their most likely suspect since he seems to have had a troublesome familiarity with the teenager. In spite of singular pressures from Katie's family, the investigation proceeds briskly; however, at the same time, each woman is also facing her own personal challenges: one keeps a shameful secret about an abusive lover, a second stoically raises her child while remaining aloof from any other close relationships, and the third finally looks forward to becoming a mother after years of disappointment.

Then, in spite of some well-placed red herrings, someone makes a shocking discovery, the pressures build, secrets are revealed, and the highly recommended Face of Betrayal moves along at a pulse-pounding pace towards its powerful conclusion. As a beautifully written story featuring the conflict between sordid passions, shameful crimes, and the ineffable power of redemption through faith, Fox News network's Lis Wiehl's debut novel is a first-class suspense thriller. Don't miss it!
