BookLoons Recommended Reads 2014
by Hilary Williamson

Snow hangs heavily on the branches in the forest surrounding our home and ice is spreading across the lake. The sky is bleak, but happy holidays approach (faster each year it seems, as time accelerates with age). We're drizzling fruit cakes, hanging wreaths, making charitable donations, practicing carols on piano and harp, and generally enjoying the season.

Books have always been a big part of the holidays for my family. I've already put aside carefully chosen volumes for my sons, and am looking out for some to save for my own reading in the lull between Christmas and New Year festivities. If you're also a fan-atic reader, look over our recommendations of the best of BookLoons 2014 reading below (limited to 3 per genre). These are mainly hardcovers - find rave reads most likely published in paperback in 2014 in our Recommended Reads 2013.
