Nina de Angeli became a compulsive reader at about age seven, and a few years later got hooked on historical fiction. After growing up, she took time away from reading to marry, raise a daughter, work as a librarian, earn a PhD in United States history, and dabble in teaching. In 2001 she published a non-fiction historical book on nineteenth-century Philadelphia women's art training, and has published reviews in the fan newsletter Murder: Past Tense.
Having recently discovered the joys of historical mysteries, Nina is now engaged in writing one of her own. She is very proud of beginning the study of yoga recently after many years as a dedicated couch potato. Other major activities are memberships in Sisters in Crime, National Organization of Women, and two book groups, one F2F and one online.
